This has just been added to the 'create character' page.

To sum up it says:
- You pay and you own nothing
- You can't complain or more generally you can't say or write anything
- The game has bugs
- The game may damage your comp
- When playing the game you will meet crashes, lag, data losses
- No refund

Section One - The Business

- Gothador is a business and, as such, there are rules to protect that business interest.
Yeah; We want your money.

- Promoting any online game which is not owned by Hunted Cow Studios Ltd. (the parent company) (HCS) is not permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, links within a post, avatars, signature images or text and in game messages.
Torn City is the most frequently mentioned. Also Runescape, and of course Warcraft. For some reason, nobody ever claims any interest for the other HCS games such as BattleDungeon or SolarFleet.

- Negative comments regarding the costs, supporting costs or any other game related charges are not allowed.
You bet.

- Game bugs should be reported directly via email (support@gothador.com). You may, however, also post bugs in the Bugs Forum in order to ascertain whether what you experienced is, in fact, a bug.
And there many. Note that a bug is different from a server crash, or a lag issue. But We have those too, and in large amounts.

- Bugs which are a potential exploit to the game should not be posted publicly. They should be brought to the immediate attention of HCS via PM or email (support@gothador.com).
No you're not dreaming, HCS has actually written this.

- Characters may not be sold and remain the sole property of Hunted Cow Studios Ltd.
Understood? You give your 300 dollars a year and you own absolutely nothing.

- Hunted Cow Studios Ltd may, at their disgression, ban any player from the game and forum if they feel their actions/comments are distruptive to the community or game. Under these circumstances any remaining time paid will become null and void and any items on the character will be deleted.
Yes there is are internal incoherences (e.g. deleting items on a deleted char?) but we just tried to make it the most frightening we could.

Section Two - Personal Interaction

- At the end of every player is a real person with real feelings. As such, care should be taken in how you interact with each player.
Oh this does not apply to us (Tabula Rasa) of course. We will piss off all the 'real persons' we want, as we always did.

- No insults of any kind are allowed whether they are In Character (I.C.) or Out Of Character (O.O.C.). The only exceptions to this rule are:

a) The Role Playing forum - where a certain amount of In Character banter is expected b) The Guild Forum - where In Character banter is a healthy way to encourage competition between cults and players

There is an 'a' and no 'b'? Well there was a 'b' in the origina version:
b) Members of Tabula Rasa may insult anyone at any moment, anytime.

Swearing is not allowed in-game or on the forums or in personal messages sent via the forum. Some milder swear words are, however, acceptable. These are: arse, ass, bitch, piss, damn, bugger, crap, butt and any extensions thereof. All other swear words or vulgarities are not allowed regardless of any other meaning or interpretation. (This includes self-moderated swearing - ie. f**k etc. is not allowed.
Members of Tabula Rasa, etc etc you got the idea.

Threatening behaviour of any kind is not allowed. While it is acceptable for one player to threaten to "hunt and kill" another player in-game, any threats relating to outside of the game are not allowed.
Members of Tabula Rasa, etc etc you got the idea.

Sexual comments are not allowed in-game or on the forum or in forum Private Messages. There are players under the age of 16 and therefore any sexual comment is not allowed. This is to protect Hunted Cow Studios Ltd.
Members of Tabula Rasa, etc etc you got the idea.

Section Three - What we are not responsible for

- HCS are in no way responsible for applications or web services written by players. Any issues with those systems should be brought up with the players concerned and not with HCS. Forum posts regarding these issue are allowed as long as they do not implicate HCS and adhere to all the other rules as stated .
This is directly aiming at GoW, a series of meta-sites run by Tabula Rasa. A resource game, a radio and so on. Err not and so on, that's all. In these meta-sites we mention real names of players, we give IPs, we launch spam campaigns.... And HCS does not want to get sued for that.

- HCS are in no way responsible for forums or websites about the game which they did not create. If an issue arises around a forum or website which is not created by HCS, you may post about it on the forum as long as you do not implicate HCS and adhere to all the other rules as stated
Same.

- HCS are in no way responsible for any message sent from one player to another unless it is sent using a system created by or supplied by HCS. In the case that a message is sent using a system created by or supplied by HCS, HCS are in no way responsible for the content of that message. They will, however, investigate any abuse of these rules if the message was sent via a system provided by HCS
This was written by a lawyer, makes no sense.

- HCS has no control over services created by players but may consider speaking to the service owner on your behalf should you have problems with that service but HCS offer no guarantees whatsoever as to speaking with outside elements or any resolution of your problem

Section Four - Other Terms & Conditions

- Hunted Cow Studios Ltd may, at their disgression, ban any player from the game and forum if they feel their actions/comments are distruptive to the community or game. Under these circumstances any remaining time paid will become null and void and any items on the character will be deleted.
You feel you've already seen this paragraph? You're right. Re-reading, beta-testing are unknown words for HCS. But seriously, who ever reads that far ?

- Hunted Cow Studios Ltd cannot and does not assume responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, safety, timeliness, legality or applicability of anything said or written by any User. Hunted Cow Studios Ltd cannot control the information provided by Users. Users' information might be offensive, harmful, untimely, inaccurate and/or deceptive and, accordingly, you agree to exercise caution, discretion and common sense when using the Service.
Yes our lawyer is a cheap one.

- The user agrees that he is solely responsible for any damages done to his computer or data loss by playing Gothador.
Yes, HCS is acknowledging that Gothador will destroy your comp. One good advice is to have one comp dedicated to Gothador, with nothing else on it. Another good advice is, don't play Gothador at work.

- Hunted Cow Studios Ltd makes no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error free.
You bet. In fact it's the opposite, HCS guarantees there will be crashes, lags, data losses.

- The user agrees that he is not eligible for refunds under any circumstances
This is the most important thing, and that's why it's hidden deep in the agreement. No refund.

- Hunted Cow Studios Ltd reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify or discontinue the Service or modify the terms and conditions of Users' access to the Service, without notice to Users, and shall not be liable to the user or any third party for doing so. All the accounts created are the property of Hunted Cow Studios Ltd
They may just stop the game at any moment.

- The user agrees to indemnify Hunted Cow Studios Ltd against liability for any use of his account.
Yes, be aware that HCS, Tabula Rasa and friends will have your IP, your mail and your name
and that any info about you may be 'lost' .

Please note we may also revise this Usage Agreement at any time, without notice.
You agree on something and then we change it. Fair enough, no? No? Well leave with it.
